Behind The Lens

Location

In the air. More specifically in Bollebygd, Sweden. At about 90 meters of height.

Time

Late afternoon a cold day in December 2022.

Lighting

It was the red sunset that made me go out with my drone. I took a risk as it was on the verge of being too cold for the drone to fly. But the light was just incredible so I had to give it a shot.

Equipment

DJI Mini 3 Pro

Inspiration

The beautiful frosty trees, the snow and the red sunset.

Editing

No post editing really. I think I adjusted the exposure just a tad but that's it. One of few photos taken that were almost "perfect" in camera. Just converted to jpg.

In my camera bag

I usually shoot with Nikon equipment D780/D7200, lenses ranging from nikkor 10mm to 500mm. Sirui tripod, SB-700 flash. As I was hired for real estate photography in 2022 I needed a drone. Looked around for a high quality, light weight drone and came up with the DJI Mini 3 Pro. I'm very pleased with the easy manouvering and photo quality.

Feedback

Get a good drone. Practice flying alot. It is trickier than it seems. Know how to set the camera according to light, distance and composition. This is a straight down shot so also, learn how to move the lens around for the best result.
