The sepia tones of the buildings and misty water add to the mystery of this place. WOW! Love it!

Location
This photo was taken at Lake Bled in Slovenia along the ring road around the lake.Time
This was taken around 9 in the morning.Lighting
This was morning light that was acting as a soft box through the dense fog over the lake. The fog helped even out lighting.Equipment
This was taken handheld with a Canon 5d Mark III with a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens handheld.Inspiration
The fog made for a magical fairytale scene over the beautiful lake. Once the birds started flying off the banks of the lake, it just became magical!Editing
Not much post processing was done here just cut a little of the fog out with the dehaze tool and adjusted the highlights and shadows. In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark IV; Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L; Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L; Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L; Sigma 50mm f/1.4; Canon 2x Extender III; Canon 24-105mm f/4 L; Canon 100mm f/2.8 LFeedback
When I first arrived at the location, I was initially completely bummed that the island was fully covered in fog and could not be seen. I had been planning the trip for quite some time and knew what I wanted to do, but once I got there all that went out the window and I began to think this was going to be a wasted trip. I just decided I had to find something else to shoot so I began driving around the lake until I caught this glimpse of the island. I pulled off the small road and ran to the shoreline when several birds took off and flew towards the island. It was just awesome. I knew this would be a special shot then! My recommendation to other shooters is be ALWAYS be flexible. Even though my initial plans were different, I was so grateful to have this special lighting on that day that isn't the same as the typical Lake Bled shots seen all over the internet. My trip was special because of the lighting and so can your trip if you remain flexible even if you have a plan in place!
