One of the many ponds within Frontenac Provincial Park (not far from Kingston Ontario) The park is part of the Canadian Shield (the exposed portion of the continental crust underlying North America). This pic was taken on a 10 km hike of the park, which is littered with lakes, rivers, ponds, wetlands, cliffs and exposed rocks. Frontenac Park gets little attention compared to some of the larger parks in this part of Canada, but it is absolutely beautiful.
