Location
This photograph was taken in my home, in studio.Time
This was probably taken in the evening, but the the daylight didn't matter for this image, because it is photographed in studio.Lighting
I used two strobe lights. One light being the main and the other as the backlight to lend a sense of definition to the image.Equipment
I used my Canon Rebel xsi, 18-55mm, and two strobe lights.Inspiration
I was just goofing around trying to capture a beautiful photograph of my favorite instrument. I took a couple hundred photographs of this violin, changing perspective, lighting, and background throughout this session. This one turned out to be my favorite image.Editing
I did change the image to black and white so that the shape of the violin would be more prominent. It is sometimes difficult for me to change an image to black and white, because I love colorful images so much, but I decided that this image is best as a black and white. In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon Rebel xsi, 18-55 lens, 75-300 lens and extra sd cards.Feedback
The only advice I can give is to play with perspective, background, depth of field, and lighting A LOT. Keep moving things around and even when you feel that you have "the shot", keep shooting.
