Location
This is a photograph compiled of two images. The background was photographed in Stewartsville, MO where I am from and the photograph of my daughter holding the frame, which is actually a mirror, was photographed in studio.Time
The landscape was photographed around 8pm near the end of summertime.Lighting
I loved the glow that the setting sun gave the field, also putting emphasis on the path made by the combine/machinery. I used two strobes for the in studio portion of this photograph.Equipment
I used my Canon rebel xsi, 18-55mm lens, as always, for both the background and for the model that was placed in this setting. I used two strobe lights and a black background for easy selection while doing post production.Inspiration
My initial idea for this image was to have another image of the girl looking away in the mirror in black and white, as if to be embarrassed, but after removing the center of the mirror I found it intriguing to be able to see right through the figure giving her the impression of being invisible.Editing
I did do post production on this image, of course. The only alteration that I made for the field background was to place shadow around her feet. I had to do a lot of work on the young lady; lightening and darkening areas to make it more believable that she was actually there. In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon rebel xsi; 18-55mm; 75-300mm zoom; and tripod.Feedback
The feel of this image is completely different than the intended image that I was going for. My advice is to play around with other ideas before calling the photograph "finished". I think this concept is more interesting than my original idea for this shoot.
