Location
A few mile east of Lawrence, KansasTime
As you can tell from the picture, it was at sunset.Lighting
It was my first time there and the setting sun with the sunflowers and a few people made such a special shot.Equipment
The camera was a Canon 70D on a tripod that I had to hold up in to the air because it was not tall enough to make it over the tops of the sunflowers. I used a shutter lease to snap the photo. The lens I was using was a Canon zoom lens EF 16-35mm 1:2.8 II USM.Inspiration
I had heard about this location on the local news and how the farmer who owns the land opens it up to people to come visit and take sunflowers and photos for a free will donation. It drew a extremely large crowd that day.Editing
I did some post processing using Photoshop and Lightroom. In my camera bag
On that day, the bag stayed at home but now I carry a telephoto, wide angle, and macro lens plus the one I used for this photo. I need to get a new tripod because I broke the one I used there and the shutter release I used that day.Feedback
Be patient and talk to other taking photos. I learn so much in talking to others and setting they might be using. Since it was my first time there, others were able to help give suggests about what to expect since I was unable to Prescott the location. I plan to revisit the location again this year.
