Thank you to all the photographers that participated in the People And Flowers Photo Contest in collaboration with Printic, sharing their best photos showing people and flowers. Congratulations to the winners and finalists, and a special round of applause for the Grand Jury Winner who wins great prizes from Printic.

A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer Paul Reiffer for his collaboration as a guest judge. Paul Reiffer is a master landscape and cityscape photographer from the UK. In 2015, his striking images saw him recognized with a Fellowship in the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP), having spent the past 3 years based in Shanghai, capturing images from all around the Asia-Pacific region. His return to London this winter allows him to focus once again on the views and iconic locations in and around Europe as he embarks on his next project.

Grand Jury Winner

"With the brief of 'How Flowers Make Beautiful Even More Beautiful”, often, it's what we can’t see that is just as important as what we can.
In this shot, we don’t know if the young girl is happy, sad, crying, smiling - each of which can be a beautiful look in their own right. All we know is, the flowers used in this shot add to that emotion in a way that is truly engaging. The soft, low contrast and warm tones really set the scene for me. Add to that the solitude of having her walk alone, facing away from us, and we have an image that can be interpreted by every viewer in their own different way. A magical feel to this image, and a huge well done." - Paul Reiffer

Runner Up

"Wow. This is an image with all the right elements - a flawless model, fantastic focus, great colour-tone and inviting feel. Following the theme of "How Flowers Make Beautiful Even More Beautiful, I’d say this photograph definitely hits the spot - clearly a beautiful model, framed by flowers which enhance, rather than distract, from that focus. While I would have cropped in a tiny bit more from the left hand side, I like that the photographer has chosen not to shoot wide, as many would. The resulting focus on the model’s eyes is what draws the viewer’s attention - powerful, yet softened by the lighter exposure in the background - really nicely put together." - Paul Reiffer

Amateur Winner
People's Choice

"Such a striking image, this could easily sit among many of the cosmetics creatives I’ve seen promoted to agencies around the world. The tone perfectly matches her blue/green eyes, and the photographer has used the flowers to subtly bring out those colours, rather than as purely an addition to the frame. I’d be also interested to see how this would work with the model off-center, but as it is, it really does pull the viewer into the shot. By stepping away from the more traditional “light and airy” feel to an image of a model with flowers, this shot provides a look that is distinctive and fresh - great capture." - Paul Reiffer
