Location
I took this photo in a farmers field just down the road from where we live in Paris, IL.Time
I shot the photograph just before sunset.Lighting
I didn't use anything but my camera & lens. No flash or reflectors. Just natural light.Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mark III and a 135L 2.0. I also used a monopod to help me steady the camera.Inspiration
My daughter was the inspiration behind this photo. I had been wanting to take her picture for a while and she didn't really want me too. I believe because I had taken so many pictures of her that she was burnt out on getting photographed. She finally decided with the help of her mom that she'd let me. I told her I was not going to pose her. I just wanted her to be her and do whatever she felt like doing. I didn't want her to pay any attention to me at all. I captured some great shots of her that I have framed and hanging on the walls. She actually had a great time and so did I.Editing
I processed the image using Lightroom & Photoshop. I shot all my pictures in RAW so I have complete control in post.In my camera bag
I have my Canon 5D Mark III, a 135L 2.0, an 85mm 1.8, & a 50mm 1.4.Feedback
My advise would be to shoot as close to sunset as possible & just have fun!! If your taking pictures of your children just let them be them. Just tell them the general area you would like them to be at and let it all happen. Just make sure your ready to capture that great moment.
