As stated in my last post, I waited in the sun for over an hour hoping my gut feeling was right and this was the place to be. And slowly but surely the winds shifted, the sun started to hide and the the sky started charging forward and growing as it did.
At this point I was jumping for joy as the storm added layer after the layer as it grew, just like a stack of pancakes. To the high left we had giant mammatus clouds forming which added excitement ten fold to an already amazing moment, and lightning was mostly buried in the rain core which at this stage was starting to go extremely green to the naked eye. I stayed for probably another 5 minutes and then recognised the tell tale sign of hail as well as a hook on radar and made my dash towards middle road near peak crossing.
