Last night after watching the Milkyway rise to the East and storms pass to the South I stopped at the tractor. It was perfect timing as the moon wasn't up and the sky was extremely dark here at Kent's Lagoon. After a few hit and misses I finally captured this image and was pretty happy with the results. So fingers crossed for many more clear nights and I hope you enjoy this image.

Location
This was captured in a small rural area named Kents Lagoon in Queensland Australia. It's a quiet area mainly full of farming and is around 55 minutes from the city of Brisbane.Time
This would have been just before midnight as the core had risen nicely and I think the moon was just below the hills so made for perfect timing. And the fact it's winter here for this shoot makes the sky even clearer and cleaner.Lighting
I found a standard flash was just too bright while shooting a long exposure with such a high Iso. So I simply used the flash on my Samsung Galaxy phone and aimed it just above the target I wanted lit so it didn't over expose. It took a few test shot's but turned out to be a perfect and clean white light for the job.Equipment
On this trip I used my Good old trust Nikon D750 with the Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 lens. I also ran a wireless remote to help avoid camera shake and that was the Pixel Oppilas wireless remote, and it all sat on a Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I really love the really natural and pure connection rural areas and even equipment has with our night sky. To see a moment like this and to think every day before the sun is even up. A farmer heads out to work and creates food and other essential things for all of us. And these old but trusty work tools are always around to remind us of these great hard working Aussies.Editing
Yes I do tend to brush the sky and raise the exposure and whites a tad as the image is simply one image I do sacrifice some areas. If needed I tweek the white balance but mostly I wont need to and I will run through the basic colors and make sure they are not blown out. Other than that it's a bit of clarity, tiny dehaze to enhance the dark's and up the vibrancy to give it that pop factor.In my camera bag
On any given day I tend to have a small set up compared to some. I carry a 1- Nikon D750 1- Nikon D7100. 1- Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 1- Nikkor 24-75mm f/4.5 1- Tamron 18-200mm 1- Tamron 30mm f/1.4 1- Pixel Oppilas wireless remote 1- Manfrotto light And also some basic cleaning equipment.Feedback
Remember a sturdy tripod and if possible a remote for the camera. If there is no wind you should turn off the vibration reduction as it may cause a tiny bit of blur in the sharpness of the image. Another important thing is to do test shot's and find the ideal focus. Once the image is in focus and you are happy, switch auto focus to manual so you don't have to refocus in-between images. But most of all take your time, review each photo and I mean zoom in to the image and check sharpness. And have a Great time. If near roads remember to use markers such as lights or witches hats to warn others you are around. Safety should always be priority.
