Location
This is the beach of Groet, the Netherlands. A beach with man made structures to break the waves.Time
I must have been around 3 PM, we were walking along the beach in spring.Lighting
There is nothing special to tell about the lighting, it was a nice sunny day in spring.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ100, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a point and shoot camera... I don't like to carry extra equipment with me, I prefer the simple point and shoot photography. The best thing about this camera is that it has a Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket.Inspiration
As we were walking along the beach, I saw this breaker with the lush spring green seaweed growing on it, the contrast with the blue was wonderful, so I wanted to take this photo.Editing
I did very little editing in Lightroom, it's practically SOOCIn my camera bag
I don't have a bag of equipment at all, only my Lumix DMC-TZ100, a wonderful intelligent automatic pocket camera which practically fits in my back pocket. It shows that you do not have to use expensive and big cameras to achieve nice results...Feedback
Water always creates nice scenes and lively motion and I thought the contrast of the calm blue sea and the green seaweed growth on the breaker was a nice combination. I placed the horizon slightly above one third from the bottom to create a nice spacious composition with the clear sky. The low point of view is very important when you are taking a photo like this one, don't be afraid to get your knees wet. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realize what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you got home and opened your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I always crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
