Looking at the ring round his finger, I can tell why the geezer is chained... maybe he over-tied the knot, eh? LOL! Great capture, Eelco!

Prachtig! Sterke symboliek Eelco, die ook nog eens door kleuren en compositie versterkt wordt...

Fun capture, brought a smile. Marriage can be a bond and a bond. Congratulations on your People’s Choice award.

Location
I took this photo in Beja, Portugal.Time
It was about 3 PM.Lighting
The lighting is natural. I was very happy with the sun standing at the other side of the building, causing no hard shadows or highlights.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ100, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a camera...The best thing about this camera is that it has a good Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket. I didn't use any extra equipment, I took the photo spontaniously free out of hand.Inspiration
I have a few photo friends and every month one of us creates a theme. This time the theme was HANDS. We were walking through the town of Beja in Portugal when I saw this antique ring to tie horses. We where in a funny mood so I put my hand through the ring and took this photo! One can have many thoughts by looking at this composition...Editing
I did a little post-processing in Lightroom to emphasise the colors and textures. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand how it works first...Feedback
If you want to take a photo like this one, try to create a simple composition with a nice background. Avoid the direct sunlight because it creates hard highlights and dark shadows. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you get home and open your laptop when the magic of today's digital world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
