Brilliant color. Love how your subject fills the frame. Nice work. Congratulations on your People's Choice award.

Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken just outside a small buddhist temple in Bagan, Myanmar.

Time

It was during what photographers call "the golden hour". The sun was high in the sky (very hot indeed!) and the light seemed to be flooding in from all directions

Lighting

The sun was high in the sky (very hot indeed!) and the light seemed to be flooding in from all directions

Equipment

The flashlight would have been definitely redundant in such circumstances. No real need for a tripod, either, since the risk of blurring the image was absolutely negligible in such optimal lighting conditions. For data bluffs, here are the technical details: DMC-FZ1000 Aperture 38/10? ISO 125? Shutter 10/2000? Focal Length 3713/100?

Inspiration

A colourful image in a colourful Country: in this picture I tried to condense Myanmar's essence, combined with a few handmade traditional items.

Editing

A (very slight) colour enhancing does not make me feel guilty, after all, since this has not altered what the eye saw.

In my camera bag

I specialize in travel pictures. Therefore, there is little room in my packpack for bulky (and heavy!) equipment. A tripod might be useful (though not in this picture) but I have to content myself with just one zoom, to fit all occasions.

Feedback

If you ever happen to visit Myanmar (and you definitely should!) just follow local people, taking pictures to them (they often are happy with that) and to what they create (as I did in this picture).
