Location
This was taken on Singleton Blvd in Downtown Dallas Texas, while driving under the support for the Margaret Hunt bridge (nicknamed Large Marg bridge by the locals, it's a pretty big landmark) - please note I wasn't the one driving!Time
This would have been taken late afternoon, with the support wires throwing some interesting shadowsLighting
it was a rather clear day with harsh lighting, but that made for some stronger shadows so it was a win for me. It also made things bright enough I could get the shutter fast enough to capture the shot while movingEquipment
This was taken with a Canon 70D and Tamron 18-300mm lens. It was shot hand-held while moving, looking up through a Jeep with the top downInspiration
I had been exploring a nearby park and brewpub, and was just playing with the camera on the way home...Editing
Other than converting to monochrome, all that was done was a bit of light correction in LightRoomIn my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon 70D with a Tamron 16/300mm mounted for a 'ready for anything' setup. If I'm going for something specific I'll also carry a 5D Mk III and whatever lens fits what I want to achieve. I'm usually looking for cool things at random while traveling, so I often don't get to plan a lot of shots beforehand. However I've found the lenses that spend the most time on the 5D are various primes or Wide-Angle zooms. On the 70D I like the Tamron's range as it allows you to capture almost anything on the fly and reduces the need for lens changes out in the openFeedback
This wasn't really a planned shot, so just be aware of your surroundings, there's always something interesting to shoot if you look for it!
