John, I think I know where this is, but to be fair to the other entrants in my photo challenge you will need to show the name of the national park in the title or tags and reload it. THanks.

Behind The Lens

Location
This was shot mid-September in Grand Teton National Park, along the snake river. I later discovered this particular spot fills up with lots of folks and their tripods at sunrise!
Time
I shot this mid afternoon. I had just arrived in the park and was just beginning to find my way around. You could hear elk trumpeting off in the distance, it was pretty spectacular.
Lighting
I'll admit to getting lucky on this one. The shot wasn't planned, I was poking around the park and lucked out on the lighting and calm river providing the reflection.
Equipment
I had just purchased my first DSLR specifically for this trip. I shot this hand-held with a Canon T4i and the 18-55 kit lens. I didn't have any special equipment to use at the time!
Inspiration
THis was my first time to the Teton and Yellowstone national parks, I'm not sure I needed much more inspiration than that! They are both lovely and well worth the time to explore.
Editing
I tried! I was green behind the ears and still shooting in JPG - I did what I could with the software I had at the time. I wish I could go back with the equipment I have today and have another shot at them in RAW with Lightroom!
In my camera bag
These days I carry a 70D that usually has a Tamron 16-300mm attached, and a 5D with something specific to whatever I'm shooting at the time.
Feedback
Even most point and shoot cameras will take some amazing pictures these days - practicing different composition techniques and keeping a steady hand will take you a lot farther than buying new equipment. Keep practicing!
