The blur and greyish haze of the concrete really accentuate the loneliness and the fragility of the young bird. Wonderfully done Eelco!

What a remarkable picture! I absolutely love that softness of the image matching the softness of the feathers, topped with the bright sparkle in the eye! Excellent job!

I took this photo in front of our workshop in Enkhuizen Holland.Time
It was about 11 am on a cold, hazy day in spring.Lighting
The thin mist was just disappearing and the sun was trying to break through...Equipment
I didn't use any equipment other then my wonderful little Lumix DMC-TZ100.Inspiration
It was a cold hazy day in early spring when I saw this little bird, alone and helpless on the pavement in front of our workshop. The combination of this little baby bird with the wind in it's feathers and the cold grey stones of the empty pavement struck me... I quickly took my camera, opened the door very slowly and started to take photo's. The little bird looked at me as if it asked for help I couldn't give... I tried to capture this feeling I had about this scene.Editing
I didn't do much editing, I like mostly natural shots. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand...Feedback
The low point of view is very important when you are taking a photo of a small bird on the ground. If you take this photo from a higher point of view, you loose contact with your subject. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you get home and open your laptop when the magic of today's digital world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them! Never disturb the animals and respect their habitat! I allways look at the reaction of the animal I try to photograph, the moment it shows fear, I back of and leave it in peace.
