Another still life view of one of the last roses of the 2016 season in my backyard. I’ll repeat the story: Got couple rose bushes for our anniversary. But couldn’t plant them right away (drainage problem). So they were in their original pots throughout the summer. They got some type of fungus problem – We did get a few nice roses, but eventually all the leaves fell off. So I cut bushes back, and figured on a better next year… But a few weeks later we were surprised with a whole new crop of leaves. And a couple buds!… This is a slightly longer view of the last one.

In this version I overlaid the center area of the main (sharp) image over couple layers of less focused softer background images of the maples (with some nice bokeh). I also finessed the stem – added a bit sharper, more defined portion in, also from the original sharp image. And then darkened outer edges and fussed with the bokeh just a bit to emphasize the main subject even more.
