Having just returned from Lisbon, I like the way you communicated the tight squeeze the trams have.

Love it. The bridge? In the background almost gives it a retro scifi look, like metropolis. Very cool shot

I´m from the North of Portugal - Porto - but Lisbon is always first. Great shot :)

Like MadeinPortugal, I'm from the north - Porto. But this is a good shot, indeed.

Location
I took this photo in Lisbon (Portugal) on top of one of the seven hills on wich this great city is build.Time
It was about three pm on a cloudy summers day.Lighting
Because it was a cloudy day, the narrow street had a nice contrast to photograph. I didn't have time to choose a light setting because the tram was coming straight at me and I was standing in the middle of the street... so I took a quick shot in the automatic mode.Equipment
I was walking in this narrow and quite busy street when the tram came climbing up the hill, creating a traffic jam behind her. I quickly took a position in the middle of the street to take a picture using the gap the tram created and I didn't have time to use any extra equipment at all, I just took the shot and went back to the pavement as fast as I could!Inspiration
Lisbon is an old city build on seven hills. The infrastructure is very complicated with small streets curving up and down the hills. There is a lot of traffic in this hectic city and I wanted to take a photo of this typical tram climbing up the hill with the traffic jam behind her, from between the rails in the middle of the street. The dark wall at the left side of the street formed a beautiful contrast with the light at the end of the street.Editing
Originally this was taken as a color photo but when I saw the possibilities when I got home, I decided to edit this one as a black and white photo... I edited in Lightroom and tuned many details and light intensities. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand how it works first...Feedback
To capture an image like this is all about being aware of your surrounding, just look around you and be bewondered about the beautiful lively world we are living in, see the possibilities for a nice capture behind every corner. When I walk through a city or anywhere else, I allways look around me very carefully to see the details of wich the world around me is build up. I try to look through a pinhole, without forgetting the whole picture. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... In this case I saw the tram coming up the hill, blocking all other traffic. I chose a nice place in the middle of the street and took some photos from different hights while the tram came towards me. As the tram was approaching, the driver slowed down a bit to allow me to shoot my photos! We had a laugh, he waved at me and I was happy! Once you get home and open your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
