The last sunrays lit up the moist cobweb hidden in between the tall grass.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ60 and shot free out of hand, without flash.Inspiration
I was trying to capture macros of droplets on grass when I noticed this irregular and wavy cobweb covered with tiny droplets. It looked like a small galaxy... I tried to find an angle with a nice sence of depth to make it look like a close up night sky..Editing
I did very little post-processing apart from turning it into B&W and cropping the photo.In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning how to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand photography first...Feedback
The lighting in this photo is realy crucial... The sun was standing very low at the horizon and I shot in the direction of the sun but not straight into it! I was laying in the wet grass as low as possible and took a lot of photo's at slightly different angles. Many times I had to wipe of the dew from my lens because I was shooting very close to the webs... The result was a few nice shots with the right sharpness and "bling". Patience, the right angle, a bit of luck and many attempts will enable everybody to shoot dewdrops on a spider web. Mind you... check if the background is without any unwanted distortions because then the macro can look a bit messy and will leave you with a less interesting photo. If you can take the photo from a slight distance and crop it later, you will have a wider field of sharpness. I allways shoot a wider area to be able to crop the photo later into a nice composition. I like to edit and crop in different ways, so I can choose the best one the next day, when I can have a fresh look at them.
