Love this wonderful story-teller and the unique vintage, sort of WWII edit!

Location
This photo was shot in one of the corridors at the hotel Balneario, Fortuna (Murcia - Spain). It's a hotel that's part of the Balneario Leana centre for natural thermal treatments. Silence is golden here.Time
I took the photo on March 2nd 2013, a bright sunny day, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.Lighting
Looking for mysterious light, which was omnipresent in that kind of spooky hotel, I suddenly grasped the opportunity for this shot as the light coming in trough the exit door with the silhouette of my partner was just perfect to create the mystery.Equipment
Shot with my old faithful: the Nikon D90 and the Nikkor 18-105 mm. No flash, no tripod. Iso 800 at 1/80 and that's it.Inspiration
I was on a day trip with my partner looking for a location to shoot a short film not really knowing what to expect. When we strolled trough the hotel and its majestic corridors, I got inspired by the spooky atmosphere, the light, the silence. The hotel was supposed to be quite booked it but there was almost no living soul around. It reminded me of the Overlook hotel from The Shining. A great source for this kind of mysterious photo shoots.Editing
Yes I did. The original photo was in colour but I decided to give it a 'spooked' touch converting it in to B/W and blending it in with a grungy texture using Photoshop. In my camera bag
I always carry my iPhone 6 and use Snapseed quite a lot but when I go on photoshoots like this I used to take my Nikon D90 with the 18-105mm lens and a 50 mm one. But recently I started using more and more my mirrorless Sony A6000: compact, light, fast and with amazing results.Feedback
I'm working on a 'spooked' series with limited lighting conditions and will not use a flash. If you start editing and adding grunge efects the original quality of the image is not so important, it's the composition that counts. I always try to look for a something that stands out, a detail that catches the eye like the the silhouette against the door at the end of the corridor and sort try to make the rest more hidden, mysterious. Desaturating the original photo and blending it with different grungy textures like concrete can give this really cool results.
