Love it. Between the dark mood, the dark jewel colors, and the geometric shapes......this is fantastic!!

Location
I took this shot in 2011 at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, on our anual trip with the LightBox photography society from Alicante, Spain.Time
The picture was shot on a cloudy morning from the ground floor looking up a staircase.Lighting
There was not much but just sufficient natural light coming in to the staircase to give it a mysterious touch.Equipment
I used my good ol' faithful: the Nikon D90 with a standard lens and as always, no flash as I do not like flashes.Inspiration
The symmetry and the light caught my eye an when I looked at the shot I was intrigued as it was mysteriously confusing as the shot could have been taken looking up or looking down.Editing
To give it and venue more mysterious and interesting touch I blended in a texture and a reddish colour overlay using PhotoShop. In my camera bag
I took a bit of a step backward from the quite heavy Nikon SLR and these days most of my photos are shot with the compact Sony a6000 and mi iPhone 6.Feedback
OK, I admit, I do quite some post-processing and experimenting with various software like Photoshop, Topaz, Color Efex Pro, etc. Besides photography I'm also into photo artistry and graphic design.
