Location
This photo was taken in a village close to Amboseli. I have been there many times. This young woman, recently married, is in her bridal outfit.People told me, that she liked it so much, that she kept wearing it. Few months later, when I visited again, she was pregnant. I am not sure, that she is really happy bride.Time
It was in the afternoon. The African light started getting a little milder.Lighting
I took the photo with a shutter speed of 1/400 sec, aperture f/5.6 at ISO 200, I wanted only her face to be in focus.Equipment
I used my Nikon D4, a sigma lens (120 -400 mm) at 400mm, no flash, no tripod.Inspiration
I love Kenya, I love to learn about the Massai culture. I traveled around with Massai , went for hikes, went bird watching, on game drives. During those days we spoke about our values, our goals, our lives and I learned a lot. I really wish, I could go there soon again.Editing
I used lightroom to convert it into a black and white image. In my camera bag
Nowadays I carry a Nikon D4 or D800. Depending on were I go I take a macro, a fish eye, a 80-400mm or a 600 mm lens. In case I take the 600mm lens, I take a tripod as well.Feedback
Taking photos of people is always a challenge. I like to respect everybody's privacy. There are two ways of doing it: Either talk to them and ask their permission. That is what happened here. Or behave like a paparazzi.
