The picture was taken in Kenya, Masai MaraTime
We found this family of mother and 5 young ones in the late morning.Lighting
The light is pretty bright at midday in Kenya, but it was just a little overcast, which helped. I took that picture at a pretty high ISO of 1000. I do not remember , why. I usually avoid that, when I can. An exposure of 1/640 was helpful though, because I had only a bean bag. I always carry my tripod , when I take the 600 m lens along. But I had no time to set it up for this picture.Equipment

Well, Africa is one of my most favorite places in the world. The beauty of the nature is just breath taking. The company of the Masai is inspiring. The beauty of these young cheetahs, the way they ran around and played, not paying attention to us, was simply a unique moment in life. I heard later, that some of them were killed by lions.Editing
I usually do not do too much post-processing. I cropped and used light room.In my camera bag
I am a Nikon person. I carry most of the time two cameras with different lenses. I use a Nikon D4 and a Nikon D800. In the summer I never leave the house without a macro. Insects are everywhere. If I go for a walk in the city I usually take a wide angle lens, sometimes a fish eye. I dreamed for a long time of the 600mm lens. Since I got it almost 3 years ago, I take it , whenever I can, when I go for a shoot in nature. I became a specialist in managing airport security with it. The lens looks really great in a scanner.Feedback
Well, you need to go to Africa to find cheetah in the wild. I personally do not like zoos. I went recently again to a zoo. Since I was so fortunate to be able to travel to Africa several times, I just find it difficult to look at animals held in captivity. I guess, it takes luck, patience and interest in nature.
