This is NOT a studio shot. Wellll, maybe you could consider it one… It happened on our dining room table. But let me explain. This is the first batch of cookies that my nine year old granddaughter and I made together (but not the first time we’ve COOKED together – we’ve been cooking since she was about three or four). Actually, with a few tips, SHE made the cookies.

But what she really wanted to do (learn?…) was how to PHOTOGRAPH the cookies. So we made her the photographer. And the stylist too.. She picked all the props. And, with sweet light coming in the window, set them up on the table. Together we set up the tripod (set low right on the table), and fussed with the positioning, and added couple fill lights on the sides. And she clicked the final shutter. And “Pops” added the art director’s touch with a bit of Photoshop finessing and typography.
