We set off in The Blue Ridge Parkway at about 7 am and it was extremely foggy. It made the trails very creepy, but great for a chance to snap off a few images to capture a really spooky feel. This was my husband and I's 12th wedding anniversary and he surprised me with this trip. I had no idea where we were driving to until we actually got to our cabin which was right at the base of the The BlueRidge Mountains, and these trails.

Alot of dense fog at 7am. So dim lighting. The color image of this is also really great, you can see the light just peaking through the trees and all the fall colors starting coming through. It was also very damp put there, so the light bounced off the mist to help with the mood of this image.Equipment
Nikon D3100, Aperture f/8?ISO 400?Shutter 10/800?Focal Length 550/10?Inspiration
Just the whole mood of that trailEditing
I turned this image black and white and cropped the outer edges. In my camera bag
Back then it was the D3100 and the kit lenses that came with it, tripod, and the usually batteries, external flash etc. Now I shoot with a Nikon D800, Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8, and just bought a Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8. I also have a 50mm f/1.8mm, and a few select wide angle lenses. Im getting away from using external flash and trying to really learn low light shooting for live music photography, where you are shooting wide open with a high ISO. The set up I have now should allow me to do just that and I'm exited to see where that takes me in 2022.Feedback
Always take the extra moment to look all the way around you.
