Location
This photo was taken at a local county show. This particular year the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Mounties) were visiting England & were at the show doing their musical ride display. Their horses were stabled close to the show ring & the public had access to them.Time
This was taken in the morning before the horses were taken out for exercise.Lighting
The horses were stabled in temporary stables which had a tarpaulin roof causing a lot of shade. Luckily this horse, Africa, was last in the line & his stall benefited from a lot of natural light from the entrance.Equipment
This was taken on my old camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50, I have since changed to the DMC-FZ200.Inspiration
Horses are great characters & if you watch them long enough they never cease to reward you with a good photo. They have wonderful facial expressions.Editing

I'm a very lazy photographer & hate carrying lots of equipment. I usually only take my camera. the Panasonic's are very light weight & easy to carry around all day. I do have a tripod in the boot of my car but it usually stays there!Feedback
Have patience. Sometimes you have to wait for the best picture. Animals don't perform on cue so patience is the name of the game.
