This was taken in my mother garden, she had a number of chickens but this guy was her favorite. He's a Plymouth Rock chicken called Rocky (what else would you call him)Time
This was taken around 5pm. he liked to let the world know he was about morning, noon & night.Lighting
It was still a good light despite being late afternoon. The large field of flowering oil seed rape in the background also reflected a lot of light.Equipment
This was taken on my old camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50. I have since upgraded to the FZ2000Inspiration
Rocky was always very photogenic & he looked so regal when he crowed. I think he knew he was special!Editing

I never carry anything other than my camera, I like to be ready for any occasion.Feedback
Have patience & know your subject. I knew that Rocky would perform for me as he had a routine before going to bed at night.
