Location
This is Dyrholaey in Iceland. Beautiful location.Time
This was taken in the evening almost during the golden hour. When we drove there, it was very cloudy.Lighting
While the diffused light through the clouds are a blessing most of the time (especially during the day), clouds during sunsets can be either a blessing or a curse. This day, it was just full of hazy patternless clouds. So I decided to do a long exposure hoping to see the same movement in water and as well as in the sky.Equipment
I shot this with a Canon 5D Mark III and a 17-40mm f/4.0L USM on a tripod.Inspiration
Iceland is an exceptional place. While I really enjoyed the trip there, I was only there for a few days in a cold January. I was having dinner at a local restaurant close by and I asked the people there about the "must see" place, they told me to go here. I wasn't disappointed. It was raining most of the time during my stay. But when I drove to this place, the rain stopped for about an hour.Editing
Did some global post processing with Adobe Camera Raw. Nothing worth mentioning. In my camera bag
I shoot with a 5D MK III. Depending on what I plan to shoot, I pack one or two lenses. I tend to carry the 24-105mm if I can only take one lens. But I have fallen in love with the 100m f/2.8L Macro.Feedback
Check the weather forecast beforehand. Book a flight in advance. Then it'll be completely different weather when you get there. Take the shot anyway.
