Location
This photo was taken at home (our front yard) in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka.Time
This was taken at 4:18 p.m. on the 7th of June, 2016. I was just walking around our front yard looking for something to shoot.Lighting
I found these mushrooms on a log under few trees. So it was rather dark. It was shot with available light. No other light manipulations.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS 5D Mark III with a EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro and with the help of a tripod and a shutter release cable.Inspiration
I have a habit of walking around the house looking for something to shoot every once in a while. Sometimes I like what I see. It's amazing to see how many things we tend to miss just because we tend to wait for a picture perfect location.Editing
A little bit. Other than regular global processing, I've added a slightly warmer tone. I also made it a little softer because these mushrooms are very fragile. In my camera bag
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III. As for lenses, I have EF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6L IS USM, EF 50mm f/1.8, EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro. Other than that, I have some filters, some external flashers, ExpoDisc for white balancing, wireless triggers, and remote release cables.Feedback
Don't wait for the picture perfect location to shoot. Just get out of your house and explore. Even if it's the same familiar face, you'd be surprised with what you can find. You may not always come home with keepers but it's definitely worth the effort.
