Gorgeous shot. Love the way the intense red of the leaves on the ground fades up into the mist. Congratulations on being a finalist!

Location
This picture was taken in Ernstbrunn near Vienna, Austria during a walk with my little daughter who was pretty excited about the fog and the colors.Time
This is a one of my favorite shot of clearing fog. It was in the morning, when I walked with my daughter through the dense morning fog. At some point the fog started to clear a little letting just a bit of sunrays touch the ground.Lighting
The lighting at that precise moment was perfect with the sunrays coming down to the forest floor and the bright red of the leaves.Equipment
This was shot with my Nikon D800, handheld at 200 ISO with f/5.6 and a shutter Speed of 1/160.Inspiration
We were just taking a walk through the forest and I was looking for some interesting things to photograph, when we came to this spot. We stopped there for a while marvelling at the beauty of the colored leaves.Editing
Since the colors in the raw file didn't really match what we have seen there, I needed to do some work mainly color correction and enhancing the sunrays a bit.In my camera bag
I usually carry my Nikon D800 with a varying array of lenses. Most of the time I carry my 105mm for portraits and macros and a 24-70mm f/2.8 for portraits and landscapes. Then some other lenses too but that varies greatly since I share my lenses with my husband and so it's not really clear who carries what lens and when. We both start out with our choice of lenses but sometimes we end up with something completely different after sharing.Feedback
The best time for shot's like this here in Austria would be November when there's usually the most morning fog.
