beatiful idea and image, but i would have chosen a slow shutter speed, so waterfall become a beatiful background like silt.

I think the water drops help convey sound to the imagination, so a sense of atmosphere which highlights the silence of the tree. Would a double exposure work one fast one slow to get the silt and atmosphere?

Location
This picture was taken at a little waterfall near Hintersee, Salzburg, AustriaTime
This is my favourite image of the trip to Hintersee. This was an especially complicated shot, since it is handheld, because at the same time my husband was using our tripod. So I had to use my hand and some rocks as a substitute for the tripod.Lighting
I wanted to get the beautiful light at the waterfall but I needed to get something in the forground. Then I saw this tiny tree growing on a rock, which was hit by a single sunray coming down between the branches of the big surrounding trees.Equipment
I used my trusty Nikon D800 Aperture: 13 ISO: 640 Shutter Speed: 1/100 Focal Length: 105 this is a handheld shot, just used my flat hand on a rock as a tripod substituteInspiration
Since my husband was behind the waterfall with the tripod I was looking for some intresting shots from the front. Then this little tree captured my attention.Editing
At first I tried to enhance the colors, but I coudn't get the effect I was after, so I converted it to black and white which was another idea I had in mind. I also enhanced the contrasts a little bit, but not to much since there was already a lot of sun and shade. In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon D800 and usually my 105mm macro as well as a 70-200 mm/f2.8 and a 24-70mm/f2.8. Additionally my husband also carries a Nikon D800 and sometimes we also carry the 28-300mm, sharing all our lenses, but usually we share one ThreeLeggedThing-Tripod. Lately our daughter carries her Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm lens.Feedback
There are often some hidden paths to smaller waterfalls, where there are less people. If you look carefully you can always find something beautiful to capture. If you carry a tripod you can also blur the water a bit more, which in this case probably had been more dramatic, but when I had the tripod again, the sun in that spot was gone.
