Interesting composition with the strong vertical background obscured by the fog.. A favorite.

Location
The most western point of Europe is Serra de Sintra in Portugal. This "mountain of the moon" has a micro climate and a unique vegetation. When we go there in summer, the temperature can drop more then 10 degrees within 15 miles!Time
I took this photo in the morning on a wonderful winters day in december.Lighting
Thin clouds of fog were moving over Sintra, "the mystical Mountain of the moon". Early light was filtered trough the trees and fog, creating a wonderful mood.Equipment
I took this photo with my little miracle Lumix DMC-TZ-100, an intelligent pocket camera with a nice Leica lens.Inspiration
Sintra is a mystical mountain with a great and long history of druids, wiches and kings. Many mysteries and stories are told throughout history and I wanted to capture a part of this feeling with this photo. The contrast of the winter trees with the wet green grass in the fog in combination with the big stones showing the inside of the mountain formed a beautiful combination to express my idea of Sintra.Editing
I did very little post-processing in Lightroom. I cropped the photo and played a little bit with the color intensity to create some more depth. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand photography first...Feedback
To capture an image like this is very simple, just look around you and enjoy the beautiful world we are living in.When I walk through a forest or anywhere else, I allways look around me very carefully to see the details of wich the world around me is build up. I try to look through a pinhole, without forgetting the whole picture. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you got home and opened your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
