This was taken on Kraków market square when my son was feeding the pigeons. This moment was captured when one of the pigeons flew into the air to get that one seed that you can see between his fingers. The pigeons made the water droplets fly into the air.

Awesome shot; imho really difficult to get the subject sharp. Also like the the bit desatuerated toning. Perfect!

Love the composition, excellent use of shallow depth of focus to emphasize your subject!

Location
This photo was taken at Cracov's market square.Time
As far as I remember it was late afternoon on a gray and rainy day.Lighting
There was no additional lighting, only available light coming from the sky, stalls and lamps on the market square.Equipment
I used my Sony A7 and Samyang 85mm 1.4 lens. No additional equipment was used.Inspiration
This was taken very spontaneously when my son was feeding the pigeons, so there was no planning before. This was a case when a lot of circumstances came together making the photo special- the rain, the pigeons and his calm expression. I think I was very lucky to capture those elements together in one shotEditing
I did a lot of work on the colors. The original photo was rather gray. I had to work on the background to make the subject stand out. There were a lot of distractions that needed to be removed. I took this photo in September and tried to edit it right away but I was not happy with the result. So I left it for some other time. Then started all over again in a few weeks but I was still not satisfied. Finally in November I felt like I found a way to make that photo pop. I edited it and was finally happy with it. I uploaded it privately online and spend a week looking at it on different screens (my phone- for first impression, 49 inch TV for details) and was making little corrections of colors, contrast and things like that.In my camera bag
I usually have my Sony A7, Samyang 85mm1.4, Zeiss Sonnar 135mm 1.8 and Sony 50mm 1.4 but when I go walking with my kids I carry only my camera with me. I belive the best lens is the one I have on my camera right now :)Feedback
When working with kids all shots come very spontaneously. Be ready to take a shot whenever you see something interesting is happening. Don't worry too much about the equipment and settings. Observe the kids. Look for emotions, body language, composition. Be aware what can and what can't be fixed in post production. Take a lot of photos. You never know when the ultimate scene will happen. And don't force your kids o pose. If they are not in the mood- put your camera away- there will be plenty of time later!
