Location
Took this photo in my back yard in Wakefield, Quebec in CanadaTime
It was taken early on a Saturday morning around 9:30 AM on a beautiful winter morning, not too cold... just perfect for a stroll in nature.Lighting
What makes this a special image is the casted shadows of the trees on the snow with their various intensities of grey. The sun was low and my point of view was at the right level to capture the angled lines.Equipment
This was taken with my Nikon D90 with lens 18-200 F3.5 5.6G ED VR nothing elseInspiration
I simply wanted to capture nature's patternsEditing
Transformed image in B&W and cropped it to accentuate the long tree shadows on the snow. May have adjusted slightly the tones in LightroomIn my camera bag
Keep it light depending on the type of shoot I'm off to do. It varies...Feedback
Dawn and dusk are key times of day to capture this type of image. It is surprising how we are surrounded by gems in our environment that we take for granted... we see but don't capture. That day I took the time to capture and happy I did, it is remains one of my top favourite image.
