Location
I took this photograph in Kilpisjarvi (Finland) in March 2016. It was first day of our 1 month long travel- on skis to North Cape. That day we met friend with dogs. On the photograph in Maciej with his favored dog.Time
It was in the morning, very cold and as we were bivouacking near the river snow was very soft and deep. It was fogy, snowing a bit. We were not in hurry as the first stretch of our route was short so we spent some hours talking to friends.Lighting
the light was scattered, very soft. Sun invisible under thick layer of clouds.Equipment
I had canon 5D and 70-200 f4 L, It is simple photograph, spontaneous, hand held, one of many.Inspiration
I loved the relation between Maciej and his dogs.He spent few days to bring them to the end of Lapland. From Gdansk where they live it is thousends kilometers. They all were so happy to see snow and to be able to run with the sled across untoutched hills of LaplandEditing
I do little post-processing, just raw conversion and some little corrections. I believe world is so complex and so beautifull that I do not need to make it looking better. Instead I focus to see all beautiful and interesting moments and try to have my camera near.In my camera bag
Canon 5D, 70-200 f4L, 17-40 f4 L (this two lenses are not so heavy, so I am able to keep it in the backpack together with other things- tent sleepingbag, food...), I also usually have tripod, and some filters. Always especially in the winter I have many extra batteries.Feedback
I like bad weather and unexpected situations. Accepting the reality keeps me focused and this kind of concentration (to not miss something great ) is like meditation, makes my life ritcher and deeper.
