Location
I took this photograph in the Pyrenees, in Maladeta Masif (Aragon).Time
It was November, day was very short, it is just 1 hour after sunset, there is still the rest of the sunset glow on the sky. Nights were very cold, but days still sunny and warm so the top surface of the lake was unfrozen during the day. It was. It was windy but as the water level was just milimeters the lake stay calm and reflects stars.Lighting
I loved this blue light in between day and night. 1 hour later all was very dark, and mountains lost its detalis, later moon lighted one side of the lake. I was photographing (as it was still relativelly early) but this photograph with first stars reflected in the lake was the best one.Equipment
I had old canon 5D, Canon 28-135 lens and tripod. It was icy so I was happy to have good head light, to work with camera settings.Inspiration
I am a traveler I am hiking over 100 days each year. I always wanted to catch the star reflections, but even I spend hundreds and hundreds nights in the tent it never happened before. Or it was winter and lakes covered with ice, or it was to windy. That bivouack was just a lucky place, right moment before winter comes.Editing
I do little post-processing. RAW conversion in Lightroom and some little colour and contrast corrections. In my camera bag
Camera ( usually Canon 5D Mk III), Canon 70-200 f4 L, Canon 17-40 f4L or Canon 40 f 2,8 STM, tripod, some extra batteries, some filters (usually ND1000 and IR)Feedback
Be in the right time in the right place, it is just question of patience and good luck.
