Location
This photo was taken in Lemmenjoki National Park in northern Finland.Time
It was in March. We walked on skis along gold rivers Lemmenjoki and Ivalojoki. We slept in the cabins, some of them were used by the gold miners, and some are still in use. I took this photo in Kultala- in past one of the main centres of gold rush. In winter we were alone there. It was evening, great blue light in Lapland very long- maybe lasting hours. This day was cloudy, it was snowing. We went out from the cabin to bring some woods and then we fond this "iglo".Lighting
My friend went inside with candels so we got good source of soft light.Equipment
I had Canon 5D, 17-40 f4 lens and tripod.Inspiration
I took this photo for fun. It was such a great place to be, inside space for 2 persons and all made from snow. And the gold village Kultala... Like in Jack London stories about gold rush.Editing
there is almost no post-processing.In my camera bag
In my hiking routes I take with me Canon 5D, 70-200f4 and 17-40 f4 lenses (or Tamron 17-35 f 2,8-3,5) and tripod.Feedback
I like to use some delicate lighting- not necessarly designed for photography. In this case it was candels, but it can be also torch or headlight. It can be small fireplace. In outdoor this lights are natural, and easy to use.
