Grand Jury Winner

"I enjoyed this picture and picked it as my top choice for a number of reasons. On the surface, it has emotion and it has this timeless quality because of the use of black and white. The composition is wonderful and the little details (her hand, the hair styles that complement each other, the roses) really add to the image. I think it also shows that love doesn't have to be confined to certain demographics or barriers as a social construct.  The photo is also sharp, crisp, and really makes me want to hang the image as a print and see it in a physical format, something that not many images that we look at online really do in this day and age.  Finally, the moment in this image is simply beautiful, as it seems to capture a sense of bliss where the world melts away." - Morey Spellman

Runner Up

"This photo is amazing for its use of light, interesting composition, emotion, and technical depth. It's another one that really nails the timeless feeling of love due to it's black and white nature which for this competition I found was a constant element in producing a successful image that needed to evoke the feeling of love. Overall another wonderful image. " - Morey Spellman

Runner Up

"A great image in that it really captures the emotion of pure innocence and unfiltered joy that each person has for one another. The expressions between these two are wonderful and the young girl's eyes really draw you into the image from both an emotional and technical standpoint.  I like that you're not quite sure what's going on, the background is a little unclear and the situation is not solidified but that almost makes the subjects more interesting and allows me to pause on the image for an extended period of time. Overall wonderful job and another brilliant photograph." - Morey Spellman
