Tower Grove Park was created when Henry Shaw donated property to the City of St Louis. Mr. Shaw was the founder of the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The fountain and the walls behind are made from rubble left after the fire at the Lindell Hotel. They made this area look like Greek Ruins.
