Whitlock’s Mill is the northernmost as well as ‘newest’ (1910) lighthouse in the state of Maine. It’s in Calais, on the St. Croix River, about an hour (about 50 miles) west of the much more viewed and photographed West Quoddy Head (the one with the red stripes).

I found an old, very overexposed slide that I had taken back when I was a novice shooter. And since I’m working on several series of poster-type image collections, I thought I’d try to rescue it now that we have Photoshop. I know it isn’t perfect, but I’d does fit graphically with the more recent images in this collection. I call this vintage-look collection of more obscure lighthouses my ‘Inglorious Beacons’™ Collection…
