This is a gorgeous spot in Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, South Korea. The palace was originally built in 1395 - the grandest of the five palaces from the Joseon Dynasty.
This hall, specifically, was where visiting dignitaries were fed and entertained. Surrounded by a moat it's instantly enchanting to a photographer.
I shot this on a Zero Image pinhole camera loaded with 120 Fuji Velvia ISO 50 E6 - but the overcast day meant the colors didn't POP - a quick conversion to black and white saved the day.
While I waited for this exposure - about a minute - I sipped my favorite Korean tea, a mixture of ginger and cinnamon, typically served at special occasions. Sitting here that day, just a month ago, counted as a special occasion for me, knowing I had no idea if I'd ever return to this spot.
