Thank you for joining my challenge WINDOWS. I chose this photo as the grand winner because of the excellent composition, the use of available light, the way you captured all the textures makes this such an interesting photo. Congratulations!

Location
I took this photo in Colares, Portugal.Time
It was 2 PM.Lighting
I shot this photo with natural light. Thin clouds provided just the right amount of contrast.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ100, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a camera...The best thing about this camera is that it has a good Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket. I didn't use any extra equipment, I took the photo spontaniously free out of hand.Inspiration
My wife and I had a wonderful walk in rural Portugal as we saw this abandoned farm. I just had to climb over the fence to take some shots of this forgotten place. The farm itself was of a great grandeur but what caught my eye was the small care taker house. The curtains curled up outwards by the wind through the broken window.Inside the ceiling had come down, it was the perfect way to show the lonelyness of the forgotten farm.Editing
I did a little post-processing in Lightroom to emphasise the colors and textures. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand how it works first...Feedback
If you want to take a photo like this one, just look around for the simple every day compositions... Avoid the direct sunlight because it creates hard highlights and dark shadows. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you get home and open your laptop when the magic of today's digital world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
