Location
I took this photo in the dune woods near the sea in Hargen, Holland.Time
It was 4 PM on a cloudy day in winter.Lighting
At the end of a cloudy day the sun was setting, creating a nice contrast between the darkness of the trees and the hazy light in the distance.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ100 free out of hand, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a camera...The best thing about this camera is that it has a relatively good Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket.Inspiration
I was struck by the light of the path at the end of the forest. Because it was a cloudy day in winter, the forest was looking mysteriously dark. I wanted to capture this contrast of light and shadow and create a photo with a nice sense of depth.Editing
I did a little post-processing in Lightroom to emphasise the colors and light. In my camera bag
I don't have a bag of equipment at all, only my Lumix DMC-TZ60, a wonderful intelligent automatic pocketcamera wich practically fits in my backpocket. It shows that you do not have to use expensive and big cameras to achieve nice results...Feedback
To capture an image like this is very simple, just look around you and see the beautiful world we are living in. When I walk through a forest or anywhere else, I allways look around me very carefully to see the details of wich the world around me is build up. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you got home and opened your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
