For me, this is the best examination of colour in the small challenge that is currently in voting. The contrast between the bold colours of the cup and the muted yellow of the cheese is excellent. I didn’t even know it was your shot as I decided that. It seems in the colour challenges that highly over-saturated shots seem to win rather than true studies of colour. To be expected I guess, but nonetheless disappointing.

I took this photo at home in Enkhuizen on our dining table, because I don't have a studio.Time
It was about 11 in the morning when I finally took this photo after some preparations and different set-ups.Lighting
Light came from the high window to the south, it was a cloudy day, so the shadows were soft.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ100, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a point and shoot camera... I don't like to carry extra equipment with me, I prefer the simple point and shoot photography. The best thing about this camera is that it has a Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket.Inspiration
I am part of a few photography groups and one of them has monthly Challenges. On this occasion, the Challenge was Cheese and I didn't want to create the average photo taken in the shop or a stillife with a glass of wine and French Cheese... So I bought a big chunk of Dutch cheese and cut two slices of bread out of it and in between I put a piece of bread, the other way around as a joke.Editing
I did some editing in Lightroom, like cropping, adjusting some highlights and fine tuning the colors.In my camera bag
I don't have a bag of equipment at all, only my Lumix DMC-TZ100, a wonderful intelligent automatic pocket camera which practically fits in my back pocket. It shows that you do not have to use expensive and big cameras to achieve nice results...Feedback
When you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realize what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... In this case I wanted to create a light photo with the cheese as the focal point. I placed the cheese sandwich at a third from the left corner and closed it in in between the cup and the knife to complete the composition. Once I open my laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I always crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop and edit the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
