Location
The photo was taken in Torrechiara, in the province of Parma, Italy, where is this beautiful castle that was also used as a set for the film "Ladyhawk" with Michelle PfiferTime
The picture was taken clearly at sunset, I was with 2 friends trying to detach me from this majestic show of lights in constant evolution and change, more beautiful, more and more magnificent, a evening to remember, I have a series of photos in my opinion very beautiful, here I have published only one.Lighting
I have nothing special to say about the light, here there is only the spectacle of nature, the photo is exposed on the sky so as not to lose its colors, you have to be lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.Equipment
I used my old nikon d7100 which I have now sold and the nikon zoom 17-55 F2.8 a giant lens that I have never loved very much, unnecessarily heavy for the landscapes and not so beautiful for the portraits, I sold it soon after the nikon d7100, now I switched to sony. The camera was on a tripod but only for convenience, in reality I could very well shoot freehand, given the shutter speed.Inspiration
This castle is simply perfect, and there is also a perfect spot to photograph it, it is a private vineyard lying on the hill where the castle is located, a fantastic location that every photographer immediately falls in love with. a place where you can admire the work of nature and man who has even improved it without taking a picture, simply by looking.Editing
The post processing has enhanced the colors but those were present, I then added a bit of light to the castle and lawn, since having exposed on the sky were too dark and lacking in detail, last I added a bit of detail to the castle and at the lawn.In my camera bag
When I photograph nature and landscapes with the sony a7II that I currently use I always have with me the zeiss 16-35 F4, which allows you to mount circular filters, such as Nd and polarizer, I almost always have a tripod that is very useful in many situations, for the rest little else. believe that the use of fast lenses in the landscapes is practically useless and often requires very expensive filter systems.Feedback
Someone told me that the best investment that a landscape photographer can make is a good pair of shoes, you have to shoot as much as possible and you do not have to do thousands of miles to find magnificent spots, yes this castle is beautiful but is located at 30km from my house and I took pictures even under the house that I consider very beautiful, at least from my point of view. One note, I think the best light of the sunset is when the sun has just set, not before, but it is my opinion-
