Location
This was taken in Parnu, Estonia. There's this long narrow pier made out of rocks that runs about 1.5 km into the Baltic Sea. At the end of it, you find this symbol of lighthouse?Time
This was taken around 14:00. We had a few hours to kill in Parnu before we had to catch a bus. So we decided to go there.Lighting
Pretty bright and harsh light. Managed to capture this thanks to the ND filter.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 5D Mark III, EF 17-40mm f/4.0L USM, a tripod, and a 10 stop ND filter.Inspiration
When you see this far out in the sea, you want to walk there. It feels very close and you don't realize that it takes about 20-25 minutes to get there. Once you finally arrive, can't leave without a photo.Editing
Pre-processing with Adobe Camera RAW, and then Photoshop CC, and Silver Efex Pro to convert to B/W.In my camera bag
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III. As for lenses, I have EF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6L IS USM, EF 50mm f/1.8, EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro.Feedback
Always carry an ND filter. Even if you're not trying to get super silky looking water, the filter helps to battle harsh light conditions. It's not perfect. But it's something.
