Location
I took this photo in our lawn, outside my office in Enkhuizen (Holland).Time
It was very early in the morning and the sun was standing low on the horizon.Lighting
The lighting in this photo is realy crucial... The sun was standing very low at the horizon and I shot in the direction of the sun but not straight into it! I didn't use any extra flash, just the natural light.Equipment
I only have a Lumix DMC TZ60, all my photo's are taken with this little miracle of a camera... It shows that you don't need an expensive camera with a lot of equipment to take photo's of good quality, The best thing of this camera is that it is very easy to take with you, because it practically fits in your backpocket. I am saving money to buy something professional though, because it will open new possibilities for sure and I am always looking for new challenges.Inspiration
My inspiration was the beautiful sparkling of sunlight in the dew drops I saw in the grass. This looked like a great opportunity for a nice macro.Editing
This is mostly a natural shot, hardly any post-processing was done. A touch of light was added and I cropped the photo. I allways shoot a wider shot, to have a wider range of sharpness. In my camera bag
My bag of equipment is filled with a good eye for detail and my Lumix DMC TZ60...Feedback
The lighting in this photo is realy crucial... The sun was standing very low at the horizon and I shot in the direction of the sun but not straight into it! I was laying in the wet grass as low as possible and took hundreds of photo's at different angles. Many times I had to wipe of the dew from my lens because I was shooting very close to the grass... The result was about 20 nice shots with the right colour, sharpness and "bling". Patience, the right angle, a bit of luck and many attempts will enable everybody to shoot a dewdrop on a little piece of grass. Mind you... check if the grass isn't cut recently because then the macro will show the cut very clearly and will leave you with a less interesting photo
