Location
I took this photo in our backyard on a beautiful lazy autumns day.Time
It was about noon, the sky was clear and the autumn sun was shining beautifully!Lighting
I didn't use any additional lighting, it's a natural photo.Equipment
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ60, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a camera...The best thing about this camera is that it has a good Leica lens and it is very easy to carry with you because it practically fits in your back pocket.Inspiration
This dandelion seed was floating playfully in the air, stuck on a singular thread of a spiders web... Taken from the right angle I was able to take a photo with the clean, clear blue sky as a background, I love simple and clear photos! I took me quite a while and a lot of tries to get the right shot as the seed was moving around, it was difficult to avoid the sun and get a crisp and sharp shot without any trees or buildings in the background.Editing
This was a natural shot, hardly any post-processing was done, I only cleaned a few spots of dirt on the seed and cropped the photo to the right dimensions. I allways shoot a wider shot, to have a wider range of sharpness. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand how it works first...Feedback
I love simple and clear photos, if you want to make a photo like this one you have to choose a point of view without any disturbing items within your final cropping of the image. The deep blue sky is also very important in combination with the high lighted seed. You have to try some different settings to get this combination just right... a pale blue sky won't give this image the full power and creates a poor contrast with the high lights of the seed. You also have to be careful not to burn the fine white threads of the seed by overexposure! And last but not least, choose a nice position when you crop the photo, don't put the subject in the middle but play a bit with the rule of thirds and try different compositions so you can choose the most exciting one. I made my choice after I looked a few times at it the next day... It's good to have a fresh look at it later!
