Thank you, we camped for a month last summer by this lake, and hope to return. It is beautiful (at 10,000 feet).

Location
This image was taken while kayaking on Turquoise Lake @10,000 feet above sea level near Leadville, Colorado. We spend time in this area every year, camping, hiking and kayaking. I have been coming here since the 1980's. This lake is surrounded by the two highest peaks in the state, Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive.Time
Tis image was taken mid morning. Quite often by mid afternoon in Colorado High Country, winds will increase and the possibility of thunder storms increases also.Lighting
My hiking and kayaking partner as well as my wife, stands in the shade, looking out on the perfectly lit lake, hopefully drawing the viewers eyes toward the mountains in the distance.Equipment
Being in a kayak, I don't take my best camera or lens, but use a compact Can SX710 HS. I tend to drop things occasionally, and lost this camera in the Merrimac Rive in Missouri this fall, lol.Inspiration
This lake is just so beautiful, and we had stopped and climbed a large rocky outcropping for a midmorning energy break while enjoying the magnificent view.Editing
Contrast adjustment to clear a bit of haze out of the air.In my camera bag
I carry a small compact camera (not this one any more), and a Nikon D5100 with an assortment of lenses.Feedback
Don't be afraid to try new adventures, and along with your camera, always carry bear spray!
