I took this image in the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City Missouri. The Guanyin of the Southern Sea is featured in the Chinese Temple room of the museum.Time
This image was taken in the evening prior to a meditation session of the Buddhist Sangha I attend.Lighting
The ambient lighting in the museum is quite subdued and flash photography is prohibited.Equipment
The camera used is a Nikon D5100, using the automatic setting for lighting.Inspiration
I am a Buddhist and this representation of a Bodhisattva is one of the most peaceful I have seen. The Sangha I attend is allowed by the museum to use this Chinese Temple room for meditation once a month. The Nelson-Atkins is known for having the best collection of Chinese art outside of China and is an amazing place.Editing
The only post processing was a contrast adjustment and a bit of fill lighting due to the darkness of the room.In my camera bag
I carry a Nikon D5100, a couple of lenses and a few filters, spare batteries and SD cards. (I keep it as light as possible!) I also use a Canon SX 710HS as a compact camera.Feedback
